Quality, tranquility, and all sorts of terms that refer to affordable vacations with many advantages of escape and relaxation have prompted many Israelis to try an experience that is as unique as it is picturesque.
From authentic “kibboutzik” to business tourism
In Israel in general, and in the north of the country in particular (Lower Galilee, Upper Galilee, and the Golan Heights), a vast industry of cabins has developed, owned by private families, in mochavim and rural communities, which they rent out for short periods.
A vast cabin industry is developing
The industry began to develop in the 1990s when profits from the agricultural sector declined. Thus, many families with farms in community localities, kibbutzim, mochavim, and individual farms decided to engage in tourism.
The first cabins appeared in various kibbutzim and mochavim across the country. Initially in buildings on land intended for agriculture, but actually used for vacations. Today, there are kibbutzim, villages, and mochavim whose main source of income is domestic tourism.
Over the last decade, the Zimmer branch has also expanded to southern Israel, particularly the Negev and Arava. In the past, the well-being of citizens was very high among owners, especially those who own a small number of cabins. In recent years, the state has begun to increase control over the cabins and the collection of taxes from their owners, which has led to an increase in their prices.
Modern comfort in the zimmer
Guest rooms in Israel offer services with varying levels of quality. Most of which differ by landscape, level of insulation, and variety of amenities. For example,
-
-
- a jacuzzi,
- a small pool,
- a television,
- internet access,
- a dining area,
- breakfast (usually for an additional fee).
-
Some rooms also offer a combination of outdoor activities, spa treatments, massages, and other related services.
In recent years, the Ministry of Tourism has worked to create a demand for accommodation and uses the IBB quality label, which classifies accommodation establishments according to about 140 international, qualitative, and quantitative criteria adapted to Israel.

Some examples of criteria:

- safety,
- the minimum size of the unit,
- air conditioning, heating,
- cleaning and maintenance,
- information available about the storage area,
- catering services nearby and more.
The company directs the adaptation process to create a uniform language between room owners and clients. The goal is to allow vacationers to obtain as much information as possible about the foundations of the room and options for vacations in the area.
Everything is in place to promote the level of service and the quality of rural accommodation in Israel.
